(Indoors, every kids watch falls back to Wi-Fi/cell positioning and is far less precise -- that is true across the category.)

For the most consistent tracking across tree cover, dense neighbourhoods and time-to-first-fix, the Garmin Bounce 2 is the pick -- Garmin's decades of GPS expertise show. The TickTalk 5 and Apple Watch SE 3 sit just behind and add communication features the Garmin lacks.

In our testing, the Garmin Bounce 2 had the most consistent GPS tracking -- tracking within roughly 3 meters outdoors -- thanks to its multi-GNSS (GPS + GLONASS + Galileo) positioning. The TickTalk 5 and Apple Watch SE 3 were close behind at 3-5 meters.
Among connected, feature-rich watches, the TickTalk 5, Garmin Bounce 2, and Gizmo Watch 3 led with about 48 hours of real-world use. The Apple Watch SE 3 had the shortest at around 18 hours. (Non-cellular trackers like the Garmin Vivofit Jr. 3 last far longer because they do no GPS or calling.)
Much less accurate than outdoors. Every kids smartwatch relies on Wi-Fi and cell-tower positioning indoors, which gives you "they're at the school" accuracy rather than "they're in room 204." This is true across the entire category, not specific to any one watch -- which is why safe-zone (geofence) alerts are more reliable indoors than live pin-point tracking.
